About the Project

While working at Bitwise Industries in Fresno, CA, I was responsible for designing the user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) for the Foundation for Fresno Unified Schools website. The foundation plays a critical role in supporting educational programs and initiatives, and the goal was to create a user-friendly, engaging design that would allow visitors to easily navigate the site and find key information about donations, events, and ongoing projects.

Objectives

  • Develop a UX/UI design that enhances ease of navigation and user engagement.
  • Highlight the foundation’s mission, goals, and opportunities for involvement.
  • Provide an intuitive layout for key actions such as donations, event participation, and exploring educational initiatives.

Strategy

I focused on designing a layout that would simplify the user journey, making the website intuitive and visually engaging. The homepage featured prominent calls to action, guiding users toward donation opportunities and upcoming events. Accessibility was prioritized to ensure a seamless experience for a broad audience, from educators to donors and community members. Throughout the design process, I worked to balance aesthetics with functionality, ensuring the design supported the foundation’s goals of increased engagement and contributions.

Results

Once the UX/UI design was approved, it was passed to the development team at Bitwise Industries for implementation and delivery. The streamlined navigation and accessibility helped drive donations and engagement with the foundation’s initiatives, ultimately contributing to the foundation’s success in supporting Fresno Unified School District programs. The client was pleased with the design and how it served the foundation’s objectives.
