The Fresno Metro Black Chamber of Commerce (FMBCC) sought a redesign to create a more engaging, interactive website that highlighted member benefits and services. The site needed to incorporate a member directory, an interactive timeline showcasing the Chamber’s history, testimonials, success stories, and an easy way for visitors to sign up as members. Additionally, the site had to offer the ability to request services like ribbon-cutting ceremonies and provide access to exclusive member benefits.
Objectives
- Redesign the site for better user engagement and experience.
- Integrate a searchable member directory and an interactive historical timeline.
- Feature testimonials, success stories, and an easy-to-use ribbon-cutting request form.
- Streamline the process for new members to join and access benefits.
Strategy
The project began with designing the website in Figma to ensure that every visual and functional aspect was approved by the client before moving into development. The design was focused on creating an intuitive and visually engaging layout, while keeping navigation simple. Once the design was approved, I moved to WordPress using the Divi Builder, ensuring that the site was not only easy to maintain but also responsive and optimized for performance. Special attention was given to the member directory, interactive timeline, and the ability to highlight testimonials and success stories in a way that built trust and credibility. The ribbon-cutting request form was developed to simplify the service request process for members.
Results
The revamped FMBCC website is now more visually appealing, easier to navigate, and highly engaging. Members and visitors can quickly access the directory, explore the Chamber’s rich history through the interactive timeline, and sign up for memberships with ease. Testimonials and success stories build credibility, while the ribbon-cutting form adds value to the membership experience. The new website successfully enhanced member engagement, with the client noting increased user interaction and positive feedback from the community.
