Website Design for Tax Services

I worked on the website redesign for MKG Tax Consultants while at Bitwise Industries in Fresno. MKG Tax Consultants offers a wide range of financial services, including tax preparation, bookkeeping, and consulting, and needed a website that better reflected their professionalism. Their previous website lacked mobile optimization and didn’t effectively showcase their extensive services or promote their mobile app, designed to simplify client interactions.

Objectives

The main objectives of the project were:

• Improve User Experience: Create a more intuitive and user-friendly design that makes it easy for clients to find services.
• Mobile Optimization: Ensure the website works seamlessly on mobile devices, catering to users on the go.
• Showcase Extensive Services: Highlight MKG’s wide range of services in a clear and organized way.
• Promote the App: Promote their new mobile app, allowing clients to schedule consultations, access tax resources, and track tax filings.
• Implement Mega Menu: Design a mega menu to make accessing various services easier and more efficient.

Strategy

To meet these objectives, I redesigned the site with a responsive layout and introduced a mega menu that grouped the extensive service offerings into easily navigable categories. This made it simple for users to find the exact service they needed. The site was fully optimized for both desktop and mobile users, ensuring a smooth experience regardless of the device.

The mega menu and app promotion were prominently integrated into the design. A dedicated section was created to explain the benefits of their mobile app, encouraging downloads, while the clean, professional design and testimonials helped build trust with visitors.

One of the key features was creating a set of reusable components, such as headers, footers, and content blocks. This approach allowed developers to easily mix and match components to build internal pages faster and with more flexibility, ensuring consistency across the website.

Results

The new website significantly improved MKG’s online presence. The mega menu made navigating their services much easier for clients, while mobile optimization and app promotion led to an increase in app downloads. MKG saw a rise in client inquiries and received positive feedback on the website’s improved usability and professional design.
