About the Project

As part of the creative team at Loops Marketing, I designed and built this custom WordPress website using the Divi framework for a premier, family-owned plumbing business with a massive local reputation. This case study demonstrates how we took an old, bare-bones, and outdated site and transformed it into a high-end, premium digital platform. We proved that a plumbing website can be incredibly fancy and feature-rich, while remaining completely effortless for everyday people to use.

Project Overview

Since 1979, Culbert Plumbing has been a trusted name for honest, hard work across the Central Coast. They operate a massive team and a huge fleet of trucks ready to roll 24/7, handling everything from a homeowner’s broken pipe to major commercial construction projects.

Our goal at Loops Marketing was to make their online presence match the elite quality of their real-world operation. My role was to bring this vision to life—developing a gorgeous, fully customized WordPress and Divi website filled with modern features that instantly comforts a stressed homeowner while proving to large commercial clients that the company has the massive scale to handle enterprise-level contracts.

The Real-World Challenge

Even though the business was highly successful, their old website looked unprofessional, completely outdated, and suffered from a severe lack of information. When everyday folks or busy property managers visited the site, they ran into a few major roadblocks:

  • A Plain and Empty Impression: The old site simply didn’t look professional or give visitors enough information about what the company could actually handle, failing to represent a business of this scale.
  • Too Much Head-Scratching Info: What little information was there listed services using complicated industry terms instead of plain, simple English. Visitors had to dig through confusing pages just to see if the company could fix their specific problem.
  • Hidden Proof of Good Work: The company had over 430 five-star reviews from happy neighbors and 45 years of history, but all of that incredible proof was buried at the bottom where nobody could see it.
  • Hard to Call for Help: When a house is flooding, every second counts. The old layout made people click around way too much just to find a phone number.

Our Strategy: Premium Design, Simple Language

Working closely with the team at Loops Marketing, I focused the new layout on combining high-end, modern visual features with direct, friendly, and easy-to-read communication:

  • Custom Media Production: The Loops Marketing team shot beautiful, professional video and real jobsite photography. I integrated these premium visuals directly into the custom Divi layouts, instantly replacing the old, unprofessional look with a polished, authentic brand image.
  • Trust Indicators Right at the Top: I brought their best credentials to the absolute forefront—showing their 1979 start date, their huge fleet of trucks, and their five-star status the very second the page loads.
  • Easy-to-Understand Service Blocks: We threw out the confusing menus, and I organized their services into clear, simple boxes based on real problems, like “Water Heaters,” “Drain Cleaning,” and “Emergency Repairs.”
  • Next-Level Features for a “Fancy” Experience: To give the site an elite, modern feel, I designed and built a premium, highly organized mega-menu for smooth browsing. The Loops Marketing team also incorporated an interactive virtual assistant to guide users and a quick language selector to ensure the business can easily serve the entire community.
  • Action-Ready Layout (Full of CTAs): I designed the layout to be highly active, placing clear, easy-to-see buttons and call-to-action blocks at every natural scrolling point so help is never more than a glance away.

Layout and Design Execution

Using WordPress and Divi, I balanced hard-working trade grit with a premium, high-end agency feel. By ditching fake stock photos and utilizing our custom video and imagery, the site feels incredibly professional yet welcoming:

  • Bite-Sized Information: By alternating the custom video and photography with short blocks of text, the page feels like an engaging story rather than a boring manual. It naturally guides the reader’s eyes down the page without overwhelming them.
  • Everyday Language: We rewrote all the text to sound like a friendly conversation with a local expert, explaining how we help rather than boasting about complicated machinery.
  • Answering Questions Before They Ask: I placed helpful answers about response times and service areas right next to the intake forms, removing doubt right at the moment a customer is ready to reach out.

Built for Mobile and the Long Haul

A premium website needs to work flawlessly under pressure, especially when things go wrong at home:

  • Fast and Easy on Phones: Most people search for a plumber from their cell phone while standing in a wet hallway. I engineered the custom Divi layouts to load instantly on mobile devices, ensuring the mega-menu, assistant, and phone buttons tap perfectly on small screens.
  • Ready to Grow: By utilizing WordPress and a flexible, modular block system within Divi, the client has a scalable foundation. As the business grows, we can easily add new services or target new towns without ever breaking the premium layout.

The Main Takeaway

This project proves that a contractor’s website can be fancy, feature-rich, and visually stunning while remaining completely practical. By pairing Loops Marketing’s professional photography and video with a clean, feature-filled WordPress + Divi build and simple everyday language, the final product operates as a high-end digital front door that perfectly reflects a highly professional, multi-million dollar trade business.
