About the Project
Client Overview
Halite Medical is a health-tech startup using AI-powered tools to modernize emergency care. Their platform supports both military and civilian responders—whether on the battlefield, in trauma hospitals, or during mass casualty events. With real-time monitoring, predictive analytics, and compatibility with widely available sensors, their solution helps save lives when time and clarity are critical.
Project Goals
Halite Medical needed a brochure that could be shared in multiple settings—from defense tech briefings to public health meetings. The goal was to design something that:
-
Communicates the urgency of problems in emergency medicine
-
Explains how Halite’s platform works across a wide range of real-world scenarios
-
Feels equally relevant to both military and civilian healthcare professionals
-
Matches their existing branding while standing out visually
-
Works well in both print and digital formats
They were attending events and preparing outreach campaigns, so they needed a clean, professional brochure that quickly explained their value.
My Role
I was in charge of the full brochure design. That included organizing their content, laying out each panel, designing graphics and icons, and making sure the visuals felt relevant to both sectors—without leaning too far into just one. I also provided the final files in formats ready for both printing and digital distribution.
Design Approach
From the start, we knew this piece had to walk a fine line—it needed to feel trustworthy and professional for hospitals and public health officials, but also capable and ready for military applications. So, I built the layout around that dual-purpose approach:
-
Balanced Visuals: I used imagery sourced from both civilian and military medical environments. That included field medics, trauma hospitals, and mobile care units—all blended to show Halite’s flexibility.
-
Design Consistency: I followed Halite’s existing branding for typography and colors, creating a strong visual tie to their website and other materials.
Challenges & Solutions
Speaking to Two Audiences at Once
The biggest challenge was tone. I needed the brochure to speak confidently to military leaders without alienating civilian healthcare workers. The solution was to focus on outcomes and practicality—how Halite helps any team treat more patients, reduce overload, and make faster decisions. I used icons and callouts instead of long explanations, making the design accessible no matter the reader’s background.
Fitting a Lot in a Small Space
Tri-fold brochures have limited real estate, but the client needed to communicate a wide range of features. I worked around that by creating visual groupings and using short phrases.
Designing for Print and Digital
To ensure flexibility, I delivered two final versions:
-
One with crop marks and bleeds for professional printing
-
Another optimized for email or online use without sacrificing readability
Deliverables
-
Custom tri-fold brochure
-
Print-ready and digital PDF versions
-
Icons and layout tailored to both military and civilian use
-
Consistent visual branding across all panels
Results
The brochure now serves as a go-to piece in Halite Medical’s toolkit. It’s used at conferences, in investor meetings, and during outreach to government and healthcare partners. The combination of military and civilian visuals, focused messaging, and clean layout helps position Halite as a flexible, credible solution in emergency care.
It captures the big picture without overwhelming the reader—something both field medics and hospital administrators can connect with.
